@jay That's odd. Did you write that JSON or was it auto-generated? Or is it from a project you created in an older version?

I am also not 100% sure what you did here ;), but the loop points can also be imported afterwards by selecting all samples and running the command in the context menu (I think it‘s called Import loop points from metadata).

Don't mind me - I'm just demonstrating my lack of experience with samplers. 😀
Found it - it's called "Automap from metadata" and it works fine.

TBH I dislike this format as it weirdly mix instrument properties (like Filter Envelope Attack) with mapping data and is terrible to parse because it doesn‘t use quotes to delimit strings so a filename with spaces in it gets treated as two tokens. I don‘t know who decided this but they were surely having too much red wine that day...

I agree - the SFZ format is a dog's breakfast but it's not the worst I've had to work with over the years.

Nope, Envelopes can‘t be added as global modulators. The reason is complicated ;)

You definitely need to add scripted control callbacks here.

@christoph-hart Yes maybe vst3 hasn't supported by the %100 for now. But it will be... And it is the future. Because Steinberg is shutting down the VST2 and this will force the hosts to use VST3. We should definately be able to ride in this highway...

What you describe sounds like a phasing issue between the multimic sounds. But there's nothing in the code that can change the pitch between multimic samples, so it can't come from there, so yes, if it happens again, please grab the audio output and post it here so I can check what's going on.

@tod-slaughter To add controls to the front interface script you use the interface designer, don't add the controls via scripting (only do this for other scripts that aren't part of the main interface). You can preview the interface by clicking the house icon on the top menu bar or by going to view and selecting add interface preview.

You can link controls on your main interface to controls in other scripts either by assign them as parameter IDs in the interface designer property list (on the right hand side) or by scripting custom callbacks for the controls on the interface.

You need to make something like this. Each drum element should be routed upon the related velocity value. You need to record samples separately: for soft hits with lower velocity, for hard hits with higher velocity.

NOTE: By the way, Superior Drums have so much samples for each note :) So, more samples means more realistic dynamics on drums ;)

    1 - 1 / x would make the world explode if x is 1, so that's rather unlikely.

Hi Simon and welcome to HISE!

As long as your project respects the requirement of the GPL v3 license, you don't need a commercial license. So in your case, just put the project folder on GitHub (or somewhere else), make the samples / other assets accessible to the public and start distributing the binary.

You can even sell the binary to end users as long as people have the ability to build the full product themselves.

Ah now I understand. You can use a constant pitch modulator, however it will play the original note and pitch it to the desired frequency which might sound bad.

If you're rolling with one SynthGroup, there is no way to make this work otherwise because the messages are passed to both samplers without modification.

As long as you don't apply FM from the one to the other, there's no need putting them into one SynthGroup.

Ah yes, that one I meant. Basically it kills voices only if the voice is retriggered more than once, so:

Play note C1 - no kill Play note C2 - no kill Play note C3 - kills the first note leaving this and the second note ringing

This has the advantage that you don't chop the sound before the attack of the retriggered came through as well as prevent a build up (and most importantly keeps your CPU nice and idle).
