Instead of just outputting the channel to mono, it converts the mono channel to stereo.

Generally, users want this for those effects. For example, if you add reverb, chorus or stereo delay to a mono vocal channel, you want the output to be stereo, not mono.

@aaronventure 5ms is practically instantaneous. Set it to at least 50+ms. You may also need to set the voice amount to 2.

For anyone else having this problem: Its all about file access permissions...

turns out the mac wont write to my portable drive, and sadly the compile process wont report any errors when it fails to be given permission to write to such a drive....
