I don't want the user to see the combobox it's just to have presets stored correctly

This isn't a function. Follow what I showed in the expansion column video for setting up the look and feel object and loading images.

To open an existing project go to the File menu.

Did you use this command to clone HISE?

git clone --branch develop --recurse-submodules https://github.com/christophhart/HISE.git

And did you set the HISE path in the settings?

Each time you add a new entry the indexes will shift. Do a search of the forum and you'll find some solutions.

One of the simplest is to use the item's text instead of the combobox value, but that isn't always suitable, it depends on how you have things setup.
