I was also thinking it would be kinda cool to have an frequent but regular zoom/skype/whatever chat online thing, as well as a physical meet up...

Why not?

I think we should aim low and try to organize a virtual meetup first, for IRL meetups we're too scattered across the globe, but I also had that idea sometimes, I was just too lazy / sidetracked with other toys to play around to act upon it.

It will be fine also via online meet up too. It is quite difficult to meet up physically for everyone. I wish I could meet up personally.
