Tahoe, safe to update?
-
With the last commits, Sonoma is too old as some function calls during compilation need minimum v15 (Sequoia).
So while I'm at it, is Tahoe safe to upgrade to?And what about XCode? currently running 16.2, can I update to last 26.2?
-
@ustk works here, but Tahoe looks horrible!
-
@DanH Amen to that! Apple didn't just drop the ball here. The dropped it, stamped on it, set it on fire and threw the ashes into a nuclear reactor.
Hopefully now Alan Dye has gone they might turn it around. Although Apple aren't know for quick turns. Might take years to get a sensible UI back on Mac.

Xcode 26.1.1 on macOS Sequoia 15.7.3 working great for me here.
I won't be jumping to the eye sore that is Tahoe anytime soon.
Maybe you could just go to Sequoia?
Tahoe doesn't seem to bring much other than the horrific UI.

@DanH @dannytaurus Thanks guys! I have to confess that I still haven't looked at what they could resemble to! So gonna have a look and maybe just stick with Sequoia for now

-
@ustk
I'm still on Ventura and everything works fine. -
@Oli-Ullmann latest commits are not compiling, xcode complains about functions only introduced from macos15
@DanH @dannytaurus seems easy enough to get rid of the liquid glass crap and tweak a wee bit to get back to a previous look

Let us know how you get on

Who are we, after all, mere little people from down there, to presume we could tell Apple what looks stunning and what does not...

-
@ustk
Ah, okay, I'm using commitc49bcf3from January 21. That one still works.
Do you know exactly which commit it stopped working from? -
-
@David-Healey Nope, just me being dumb all along... the issue shows it's related to 10.15, not 15... Just throw a t-shirt over there!
-
Still I can't compile

This has been introduced yesterday @Christoph-Hart
