except we dont grow - we wither and die. If it takes me a month (at the insanely best) to make a plugin and it takes them a day to crack it - then I have lost every time.

Here is an Advise:

Once your Plugins get Publish and Removed By your Dmca Request.
Don't Release abother Update, Or it will posted on warez Again.

As long as You dont Release New Versions they dont Repost your Products on Audioz.
So you can recover By Doing promotions and Big Sales.

And Black friday is Around the corner, Just keep The update After that day, And Instead make No brainer sales.

Btw, Proud of yourself, Once you get In their Radar Means Youre Getting Known to A Big crowd Of Music Producers.
And R2R Not Crack Cheap Plugins.

We can turn all of this the way we want for hours, the truth is that the biggest are cracked, meaning guys with strong coding knowledge "fail". And now we can count the best dongles in the list.
And I don't think many of us (and certainly not me) have an equivalent knowledge to compete against any hacker.

I can understand the spirit of hackers, maybe wanting anything free with no care about someone behind working 14h/day and earning less than they do. If they want to fight a system and fuck capitalism up I can't rage against that vision. But afaik not many of us, usually running as a one-person company, can be assimilated to big companies and capitalism or whatever they wanna fight against. Unless I'm wrong and they simply want everyone down, or maybe it is just a game, I don't know.

But I'm pretty sure there's still a philosophical thought behind their actions. Would be just good if they can integrate to those thoughts some more consideration like "well, I can't or don't want to pay for this plugin and it is a cool thing/challenge to crack one more down, but someone's financially dying behind... so do I really want to do it?"

@Natan's dmca advice is a very good thing. But it would even better if, by understanding the size of a company and how much harm they do, they could decide not only to just remove the posts in questions but white list the company and mark it as "no-good candidate to kill". But I am probably living in a fairy world...

What is a good candidate to kill? I think the only company that deserves being cracked is Adobe with their extortion subscription but they managed to build their monopoly from decades of having their software pirated and thus becoming the industry norm.

@Christoph-Hart just a way of saying. I of course don't want to see any company to kill. But I'm just trying to make the point where some are definitely not working as easily as others. There's a strong difference between lacking sells to gain more and almost selling nothing and having difficulties to put salt in everyday pasta.
And to be honest, some biggers are making me vomit the same way just by seeing they sell their 100 plugins bundles stuff for 3$/month. I'm exaggerating, but not so much... and this makes small companies job even harder. Well it is not the topic, but this serve the point in a way that very small companies have a way harder life.

@Lindon don't let the crackers crack your spirit. There's no uncrackable software. And there's a lot of examples of companies that were cracked a alot, and they are successful. I.e. Microsoft, UAD, Adobe, Steinberg.... And list goes to the infinit

I agree with @Natan and @hisefilo.
If R2R or whatever can crack big companies, they can not Hack them back? Or ruin the entity of Hackers or warez ? No, Big companies like the popularity or they have a solid rapport with the Crackers.
Image Line for example released 20.8.3 after few months it got cracked and they released 20.8.4 (which is un-cracked till now). ImageLine uses same .Reg file registration system. Then why 20.8.4 is not cracked? Because they are waiting for 20.8.5 version. When it will be released they will release 20.8.4 to the pirated world.
Imagine a company makes very good plugins (suddenly without his concern) if he gets hacked then his popularity to pirated users get increased. Lot of musicians only rely on cracked plugins. Even AVICII or Martin Garix used cracked one. For them new cracked plugins is a new name. It certainly boosts the recognition. Without crack Sylenth would have not been Sylenth same true for Nexus, Spire, Dune, Spectrasonics, Dune,NI etc.etc.

It is true R2R don't crack useless plugins. They only target good one.

How I handle my plugins being cracked:

1. I check audioz(few other popular sites) if I see a big spike in traffic (seems everything starts here)
2. email them if my product is posted(they remove in 24-48hrs)
3. remove the links via the storage site(uploaded, rapid, etc.)
   --This is important since most sites use the same links.
4. From my google dashboard remove all google searchable links
   --So they dont appear on a google search.
5. I also check the storage links on all sites that popped up on google search and send DMCA to the pirated site as well.

Sometimes i'd have what seems like 50-150 sites to go through but only a hand full of them generating real visitors or using unique storage links.

in my case I always seen a boost in sales, but after about 3-5 days all links are down and no longer showing up on google.

I also use tags like free download, free cracked plugin etc. on my site so when ppl do search for cracked versions my official site always pops up.

To me it is free promo. Just imagine someone does see a link to a pirated version and he goes to your site to buy it because of trust etc.
What do you think about donationware as solution? I think any digital product should be donationware but maybe it's not the best way.

Release it As Free For X Hours Or Release it As Upsell I Mean Buy One And get This/That Free.
