FX Modulation
-
@Lunacy-Audio I kind of felt this was the case. I'm still trying to learn scriptnode of course, but how would you modulate something like a Reverb or Delay in scriptnode?
-
Actually there is a way using macro controls and the macro modulation source container but itโs a very new feature and not yet documented.
Basically you can setup macros to be a modulation source, fill the container with modulators and assign them to any knob on the interface using the right click context menu (just like the MIDI assign function).
Then you can edit these modulation connections in the FrontendMacroPanel floating tile.
-
@Christoph-Hart Yes this is exactly what I think I need. Even though I'm not sure how it would work in regards to trying to modulate something like a chorus? If you get a chance can you provide a small example of how it would work this way?

@Christoph-Hart are these macro connections exposed to the user or is this for internal use?
-
They are exposed to the user (hence the name FrontendMacroPanel). It allows you to setup a fast modulation system that can be applied to any control on your interface.
Be aware that this doesn't support polyphony though (plus the update rate is once per block), so the "real" modulation slots in the modules yield a more accurate modulation.
-
This is very cool and actually might be really useful for the modulation system I'm trying to create in the engine I'm building.
Is there a way to add and remove these assignments via scripting?

@Christoph-Hart Thank you for this. This is amazing Literally just took my project from 60% complete to about 90%
I was using an outdated version. I compiled Hise today with the latest commit on my Mac & I see the example. :ok_hand_medium-light_skin_tone:
8 is the maximum?? -
@Christoph-Hart This example has made me want to redo my whole modulation system. Thank you
I have a few questions. When I select a knob to add to a macro control knob, it works. If I go back to that knob and right click to try and remove it, it doesn't work. How do I fix this?
Also, how do I set knobs on the Front Interface to control the macros knobs? Like the behavior of the actual macros on the top, would be cool to have those included in the FrontEndMacrosPanel as well. Thats currently the only way I can remove the controls since right clicking doesn't work for me. I know it's probably obvious but this is my first time using this macro setup.
& Lastly, how can I save the Parameters of all into the preset? -
@Christoph-Hart
This not work With Fx Plugins. Am i Right?@Christoph-Hart said in FX Modulation:

now I'm close to using this system - is there a way to change the colour of the assignment flag? - the little node that shows up next to the widget with a number in it to show which macro modulator is assigned to that control?
If not could we have a way?

@Lindon Lindon, Check This Thread

@Lindon I'm using the macro modulation system. It's not perfect but it does the trick for now :)
Make sure you're on the latest scriptnode as @Christoph-Hart just fixed a bug that meant the macro settings wouldn't save in your DAW project. -
@DanH Dan, Is This Work With Plugins?
Or Just Instrumnets? -
@Natan VSTs, not FX.

@DanH So VSTis not VSTs :p
