@DabDab ... Well... If you want to keep the hackers away, you better get good at it my friend! I am not sure my feeble attempts at this would really bring that much benefit... I just read in an earlier post, where @Lindon described his method of tackling these things. So if he still has his stuff on these platforms, I doubt that our efforts will be rewarded. There is a much bigger hammer needed probably, or maybe an anti-hammer (Open source)?!?

I haven't thought about this myself too much, tbh! It is a problem, but for Kontakt libraries as well!

There are many questions I haven't really tackled yet myself... Open source, closed source, simple copy protection, more serious copy protection, custom-made downloader, Pulse downloader (with watermarking system... though the guys you are worried about probably don't give a shit!)...

I am not sure it is worth the fuss to be honest... These are different kinds of people... Buyers buy, freebie peeps will download freebies and hackers will steal... and probably never buy anyways... It bothers me to hear, for sure, but I am not sure it really influences your sales that much! I think the 50'000$ customer is just a different customer from the 500$ or 50$ customer... There's room for overlap, certainly, but someone who can just pay the 50'000$ will not buy (or maybe even look at) the 50$ option... Different folks!

@DabDab Wow. That's quite a position... Well. There's the whole spectrum I suppose... It takes some creativity to come up with ways to tackle this. Didn't @d-healey say in his live stream on Sunday that only license-buyers get access to certain kinds of bonuses?!? I found that interesting!

I wouldn't call them bonuses. Licensed users get access to downloads from my server, customer support tickets, and updates.

Well - after the last week of dealing with social media about releases I'm pretty sanguine about this sort of thing. .. my current position is "not likely to build another CR product ever......" - I will probably recover but right now I'm completely over the music software industry.

@Lindon have you noticed a dip in your sales when the cracked releases came out? There are different experiences out there from sales being cut by 80% to even increases in sales (because of the publicity).

@Lindon you might want to alter your copy protection a little bit for your upcoming release - it looks like they found a way to generate a keygen for all your products, so if you make sure that they have to "recrack" Horizen (or at least try to figure out a new key generator) the chances of it staying unpirated a bit longer increase vastly.

But yeah, this sucks big time.

Oh and the links on my favorite crack site I used to lurk around when I was 13 point to rapidgate and other file hosters so if you want, I can send you a list of the links and you can then file a takedown request directly at the 3-4 file hosters (they actually respond to these kind of requests).

@Christoph-Hart - well every single product uses a different key-gen system (each product has a unique key) so they didn't I think crack the code - they just looked for the call to the authorisation routine and turned it off... in each one..so time fore the Urs Hackman improvements...

@Christoph-Hart is right if I just put the name Channel Robot it is ranking high. Google is showing all of your plugins at one page. However Torrent sites also coming.

Only licensed users get the samples from me. The source code is on github so anyone can compile and redistribute it and the samples are under a CC license so they can be redistributed non-commercially.

If someone wants to try your plugins as a Demo or 10 days trial, is that possible?
