I'm trying to compose 60's rock and 70's glitter rock. I may be a little too much in the mood of the time ... No ?
Pentium E6700 is 3.40 GHz VS Q6600 2.40 GHz. With DDR3 for you. DDR2 for me. huge difference.
anyway. the problem is elsewhere.
this old PC was mine before, and i composed music with sonar and studio one and a lot of vst (32bit) without problems.
this weekend we tried studio one, reaper. impossible to play just only 1 vst (every: waves - arturia - TOGU, etc. ...) without having 100% CPU hog and audio dropout.
Only cakewalk by bandlab (64bit) works well.
so i think this PC is very tired now ...
that's not the problem that caused the crash with .ch1, but maybe a little guilty about ...
so i wont try to test with 2.0.0 and .ch1; Maybe with 1.6.0 and .wav. But if i have the same crash i think it's the PC sanity that cause problem first. Too old.
A little sad to have this kind of problem, but remembered a change for a brand new PC because starting to have some CPU/Ram limitations before. Now this computer is totally limited.
i think my son will start some project with this old PC and we will finish it with my brand new. better way
no, with 1.6
never use the 2.0.0 because of reason i gave in my post about troubles with 1.6 projects loaded in 2.0.0.
Nothing impossible, just changing some scripts; just i'm lazy to do it now
but i will soon.
so, i will try with 1.6 version with non monolith (.wav) files, and later with 2.0.0 project with monolith.
But it's not really important now. my son asked me to play with my project to create a song for school exercise; but pretty sure it will finish by "hey, dadddy, could you make it for me instead of myself ?"
But it's a good way to find troubles with my projects when not loaded with my own computer
before explaining the "small" problem i have, i just want to say that all my compiled romplers projects works in my PC (I7-6700, 16Go DDR4 Ram, win64, etc. ...)
My son wanted to play with my projects on his (my old) PC and ... Drama !
opening the vst: ok
loading a preset/sample(map) .ch1 = Crash !
trying to redo it : BSOD !!!
old PC: Q6600 - 8Go DDR2 ram, win 64.
what's the minimum requirement for a vst/rompler in 64bit ?
already tried with 32bit vst, same result. VST loaded without samples: ok, when trying loading samples: crash.
i will try with non monolith (.wav) files to see if the same "bug" happens ...
but beware it will be a stupid question (with all misunderstanding :D)
I read the post on how to click a button and land on a web page.
And the opposite ?
i would like to know if there a way to link - for example - a module with a file on the web (?)
to be clear an example:
i create a convolution reverb and decide to activate it by a file on the web, instead of an on/off - bypass button on GUI. maybe because i want to use my IR and not another (hey ! i know it's stupid but it's just an example ! )
a script like:
if (file is on the net - an IR .wav for the conv example)
reverb module - Enabled (value)
(file is not on the web)
reverb module - Enabled (!value)
if i'm not enought concise or clear let me know
I think for example also a way for the plugin to connect to a site to find out if there is a new version available
I already found everything I wanted. but thanks anyway for the advice.
Only you may not have read my signature: I am French. You know, this people who, when they are not happy, put on a yellow vest and demolish secular buildings that have made history and the reputation of their country. The Frenchman wants everything immediately, by paying less than the normal price, and demolishes everything - by provoking more expensive damage than demand.
For hise it's the same. I ask questions about hise / Mac, but I already want HISE 3.0 free, before everyone else.
Uh ... In case you did not understand, I'm joking, it's an ironic message ... So Frenchy ...
And if you don't laugh by this message i come at your home with my yellow vest and detroy everything
(in fact what's happening here is not funny. I'm really just ashamed to be French today ...)
did you change something on the forum ?
Seems to be impossible to create new thread.
i notice some changes in 2.0 that causes error if not fixed.
ParametricEQ (always named like that when selecting it) must be named CurveEQ now. If you've made script with "parametric" you must change all by "curve"
all const var (EG: const var Arpeggiator = Synth.getMidiProcessor("Arpeggiator");) add error: const var declaration must be on global level
in the multipage script:
inline function handlePages2(pageToShow)
for(p in pages2)
p.set("visible", pageToShow == p);
error: Unknown function 'set'
anyone has other/another errors due to change ?
"Visual Studio on macOS has nothing to do with Visual Studio on Windows. It's just a rebranded version of another IDE called Xenomai, which is admittedly highly confusing."
I'm stupid, but not enough to confuse the two. in the projucer project, VS2017 only appears in a "windows" section. It is confusing; and anyway I have not managed to compile hise with VS, but with Xcode.
in hise, all projects has only VS2017 available to compile, no Xcode. But when i compile plugin and standalone it works, even if i don't know if it's VS4Mac or xcode working, but it's working and it's the essential.
"You don't need anything to compile AU plugins, the SDK is included in macOS by default."
discovered it. Not the same thing on Win.
what is the "lib .a" file created with the component ?
"There is no "better" plugin format (actually there is, but it's completely beside the point). You will need to provide both VST and AU in order to support all available hosts. "
Yes. as i created plugins to just test Mac and not distribute it, i compiled both and tested in reaper (that loads both).
"If you want to compile on macOS 10.14, you have to disable the 32bit builds in the Projucer projects."
yep, Dustbro mentionned this above.
the sample library (.hr1) is the same for both win and mac ? if i already made it on Win, i've just to compile the plugin, no need to create the installer again ? (sure the answer is yes).
The reason for all this is not to create public Mac plugins, but just that I may be working in a new web development company that only works on Mac. and I only work on PC.
so I acquired Mac Friday, studied OSX on Saturday morning, and installed HISE / xcode / VS for mac / etc. Sunday to train on Mac (and eventually show them the plugins compiled to show what I can do on Mac)
I know, web development has nothing to do with VST.
