Limiter Sidechain?
-
@pluginboi still confused on how I can create the ducking effect with it? Like affecting the wet signal while taking in the dry
-
@Casmat set the sidechain slider to sidechain and use the limiter inside the sidechain container. This will make it so that the limiter uses channel 3+4 for ducking but effects 1+2
-
@pluginboi ahh, so all I need in the sidechain container is the limiter and then if I put the container at the end of the scriptnode flow such it’s the last node, it’d limit the wet signal while taking input from the dry?
-
@pluginboi or probably what I’m asking is how to route this, I see there’s four channels like you mentioned, do we wrap the entire scriptnode project in that sidechain container and add a multi which separates 1/2 and 3/4? Then put our fx in the 1/2 chain and put the limiter in the 3/4 chain? Or could you send a simple snippet with the correct arrangement?

@Casmat bump!

@Christoph-Hart thanks!! Cleared up the water for me!!
-
@Christoph-Hart Does this work with external signals in a compiled plugin? If so, how do we specify which input is the sidechain for the DAW?
-
@pluginboi said in Limiter Sidechain?:
@Casmat check out the multichannelfxplugin here for how the sidechain works https://github.com/christophhart/hise_tutorial
Hey sorry for the necro bump, but when I look at this project, the compressor reports DLL not found. Not too sure why?
I wanted to basically know how I could get 1+2 and 3+4 into a script FX module, so that I could have 1+2 compressed by a compressor, but using 3+4 as the sidechain signal.
Anyone know how to do that??

@Orvillain could you share a snippet?
