Global Time Variant Modulator + Scriptnode
-
@Matt_SF actually I take it back - it didn't work! Here's a snippet and a link to the .vst3 windows plugin file if anyone wants to see. The issue only appears in the compiled FX plugin on Windows (OSX fine).
It would seem as though the Global Modulator runs at 2 x the speed of the normal LFO in Ableton. In Bitwig it's something else, random. I do wonder if there's an issue with Global Modulators on Windows for FX Plugins.
I removed any scriptnode stuff, so it's just two filters, one with a normal LFO and the other connected to the GM LFO.
Would be grateful if anyone could look it over or confirm the issue :)

@DanH If anyone could see if they can recreate the issue I'd be hugely grateful. Vid below of what happens on windows
-
@DanH I can confirm the issue. Tested with Ableton & Reaper, the GM LFO seems about 4x faster... :face_without_mouth:
-
@Matt_SF Thanks so much, I make a bug request on GitHub asap
-
@DanH Issue reported on Github
-
@Christoph-Hart just coming back to this as I'd love to be able to use a global modulator in my FX plugin. I see the priority was set to low - is there any chance you can take a look at this in the near future please? It's been nearly six months :)
https://github.com/christophhart/HISE/issues/279
Have checked on recent commits and the issue is still there.... I have however discovered that the behaviour is different between VST2 and VST3. VST2 looks like it's ok at first but slowly the two LFO's will slip out of time with eachother.
VST3 - the Global Mod is about double the speed of the regular LFO, as first reported...
Windows only, mac fine

-
@d-healey thanks, I've had this ticked all the way through. Everything works, just not in time
-
@DanH -yeah this is true here too...
-
-
@DanH interesting , I am also using the global mod into scriptnode, was not aware of this problem.
-
@lalalandsynth have you exported it yet? It only affects the exported plugin afaik
-
@DanH no , not yet.
I am only using the global modulator because I dont know how to get a synced lfo in scriptnode, I would prefer using scriptnode for the whole thing.
-
@Christoph-Hart would you have time to look into this soon you think? :)
