Nah, a basic HISE plugin has about 8MB, probably all those filmstrips are sucking up your hard drive space...
-
Yeah, although images are optimized (for 4K monitors), and file sizes have been reduced; the image folder has 45MB image size on Hise project folder. (Normally limit is 50MB for Hise image folder)
-
@Win-Conway Presets are being listed successfully, but on first initialization it just doesn't show the name. However, you can click the category name and see the selected preset. See this topic: https://forum.hise.audio/topic/1159/always-on-the-presetbrowser/20

No i mean the presets are not being passed to the host, so they are not visible in the host preset lister, internally the list works fine.

Ah, yes, this is because the host's preset system uses the VST Program feature which is terribly inconsistent, so I frankly didn't bother adding support for it.
I tried to make it work, but it was literally impossible to get it correctly on more than two hosts - loading projects doesn't restore the display, loading presets from this menu doesn't propagate the change to the plugin and all kinds of issues like that. -

Be aware that this 45MB compressed PNG will be extracted to completely uncompressed bitmap data and will eat up a lot of memory (my guess is something over 200MB). There is no way around this except for not using so many and big filmstrips.
-
@Christoph-Hart Yeah I compressed the large png files. I didn't reduced the canvas size of the images because it causes blurring effect while scaling to %200.
If compressing images is not useful on compiled plugin, So optimizing big image strips maybe would be less frames. Not 128 frames, only 70 frames for example....
-
@orange frames have to be odd numbered, so 71 or 129, or is it counting from frame 0 or something ?
-
Yes it counts from zero like most things in computer world - the value of scripted comboboxes excluded ;)
-
@Win-Conway Yes it counts from zero.
So for example; if you make 70 image strip frames, this frames will be numbered from 0 to 69, but you will specify the frame numbers (numStrips) 70 in HISE.
-
Aaaah OK, thanks
-
@orange the AU versions don't show up in Logic or GarageBand here. Tried 2 different computers.
-
@dustbro
10 different beta testers didn't have this issue but however; sometimes the mac users need to clear the Logic / Garage Band cache in order to detect Hise made fx plugins (instruments doesn't do that, only fx plugins). I don't know why it does that but after clearing the cache, it works. Also you can use only stereo version, because that mono version has some bugs and I fixed it but not uploaded it yet. -

Each plugin is 110 meg, is that a limitation of HISE, seems rather high for an effect ?
Presets are not listed by the host.
There is an audible artefact when changing presets, possibly an issue with HISE, no other JUCE effects have this issue.@Christoph-Hart I am having the same problem with my plugins while changing presets. When you jump to different presets, the total volume goes up for approx. 0.5 second and then it becomes normal. Hise 1.6 didn't do that. but Hise 2.0 does it.
