Despite my wonderfully informative installation guide ;) I often find that first time users make some tiny mistake with the installation process which causes a degree of frustration. One example is selecting Choose Sample Folder instead of Install Samples. The inevitable result is they end up at a screen like the image below.

I can think of a couple of things to reduce this kind of problem.

Instead of just the two options choose samples/install samples how about asking the user, is this the first time you've installed the library? if they click no then give them the two options, if they click yes you only give them the option to install.

When the user gets to the screen in the image, give them the option to locate/install the samples.

@d-healey Yeah thats a bit like I asked for a long time back - is there a project flag we could set to have:

        • both buttons
        • the choose samples only
        • the install samples only..

I've elected to remove the dialog all together and force the user to locate the sample location within my settings tab.
@Christoph-Hart posted how to comment out that dialog previously.

@dustbro I assume you're not using the .hr sample archive installer thing?

This might be a good idea - I'll think about it.
