MIDI device reselect bug?
-
@dannytaurus Nice, I look forward to getting this one
-
@David-Healey Here you go: https://github.com/christophhart/HISE/pull/842
I don't know about the channel resetting bug. Is that the same thing, or tangential?
-
Hmmm I merged your PR but I'm not noticing a difference in behaviour. Maybe the issue I have is different.
All devices are checked, if I uncheck one, close HISE, and reopen, it's checked again.
And the MIDI channel still resets to All Channels.

-
@David-Healey Ok, I'll look at the channel issue when I get back home. I'm working in Starbu7cks right now and it's too nerdy, even for me, to carry a MIDI controller around with me.
Or is it?

Anyway, the issue I had was, if my MIDI controller was checked in settings then I relaunch HISE, it would still be checked in settings but not responsive until I manually toggled the check box.
The PR fixes this issue for me. Can you confirm that? Or are you seeing different behaviour?
-
@dannytaurus said in MIDI device reselect bug?:
it would still be checked in settings but not responsive until I manually toggled the check box.
I can't recreate that issue. They always show checked for me and they always respond.
Could be OS specific...

@David-Healey Interesting. USB MIDI keyboard? Or USB MIDI interface with 5-pin MIDI keyboard attached?
-
@dannytaurus USB, mine actually shows up as two separate MIDI devices from the single port. One for note data and one for controller data.

-
@Chazrox Could you try the PR please? Do you see the same as me, or the same as @David-Healey?
-
@dannytaurus I find this happens with the audio output as well though certainly less frequently then the MIDI input. Thought I would mention it if you are already poking around in the source code.
-
@dannytaurus Just my experience, in my case if the device is still on then closing and reopening Hise keeps the connection working. But it's lost when I switching the device off and starting hise again. (haven't tested the PR yet)
