      Hey guys,

I have a question regarding a problem I'm facing. When I adjust the wet of the Convolution reverb between -17dB and 0dB, the audio starts clipping, regardless of the loudness of the IR sample.

Is there a solution to this issue, or am I doing something wrong? In other convolution plugins like the Fruity Convolver, I don't encounter this problem.

@bendurso Turn down the input gain

@d-healey Do you mean like with a "Simple Gain FX"? But if I turn down the input gain, it will also affect the "Dry level" of the Convolution reverb.

@bendurso And I know that putting a limiter reduces clipping, but it will also affect the dry level and I don't know if it's a good idea (for making a reverb fx plugin based on IR).

@bendurso What is clipping? the wet only or the dry+wet output?
May the input level be too high so when you add the reverb it clips the result?
Where does this happen, exported project in a DAW or in Hise during dev?

Can't help pressing F5 in the forum...

@ustk It clips only on the wet signal. I mean, clipping occurs both at 100% Wet / 100% Dry and 100% Wet / 0% Dry.

Yes, I think the volume is too high that it starts to distort. It happens in both Hise and the exported plugin.

I think the solution would be to apply a limiter only to the wet signal. That can only be done with Scriptnode right? I don't know anything about scriptnode, but I'm going to start testing.

Why don't you just limit the wet level? Calculate the maximum level without clipping and make that level the maximum wet level of your Parameter. Or make a Send to a full wet Convolution Component and put a Simple Gain before?

That could be a good way to manage it.

Applying a limiter only on the wet would be ideal, since I want to create a reverb FX (not an instrument), and I don't know the user's audio input level (and sometimes I hear it clipping by a slight difference in level). But still, limiting the range of the wet could be a possible solution. Thanks :)
