Envelopes...pesky things...
-
So I'm probably late to the party but it seems envelopes apply all their values to a note as soon as it is pressed, so if a note has a long release as you press (and hold) the note, then as the note is playing you set the release to really short - it plays the long release when you release the note....next note "behaves itself"
-
@Lindon I never knew that!
-
@d-healey its doing it here, did you check its doing it there?
-
Doesn't happen with simple envelope. Happens with AHDSR.

-yeah and I need AHDSR ...I wonder if there could be a fix @Christoph-Hart ?
-
@Lindon Yes, this "does not update function unless new note" is bothersome.
I especially dislike that you cannot change oct etc on a synth without retriggering a note, very unexpected. -
@Christoph-Hart Can we get a fix for this?
Also this button is useless because all you get is errors about not having an envelope in the chain:
-
@d-healey I never understood why we are obligated to have at least one envelope – totally redundant if you were to only playback some one shot samples.

Because the envelope will kill the voice if it goes down to zero and if you don't have that, you'll get ringing notes for sound generators that have no end point.

@Christoph-Hart Makes sense!
