Monophonic Envelopes ...not working ?

Maybe I am doing something wrong but when I set the simple envelope on a sampler to be monophonic it seems to turn it off somehow and I get a " You need at least one envelope in the gain chain" in the console ?
Also happens with the Sine gen .

What am I doing wrong here ?

Yes, you need a polyphonic envelope before the monophonic envelope ,,,which makes no sense and does not deliver the correct monophonic behaviour.

I think that most of the weirdness that you are experiencing with trying to make a monophonic synth is that HISE is strictly polyphonic in its base architecture and the monophonic envelopes try to hide that fact a little bit, but it still leaves some quirks.

Now you can achieve a "truly" monophonic synth with scriptnode - just create a script FX, add a container.midichain node and go crazy in there.

This patch is a saw waveform with a LFO modulating the frequency, but you have (almost) unlimited flexibility regarding the patching and modulation and are not bound to the way the HISE modulation system works (which is admittedly not the best for monophonic synths).

You will have to fight through quite some quirks with this since it's all so brand new, but for a synth tinkerer I think this process is 100x more rewarding than being stuck with the stock HISE modules.

@Christoph-Hart Excellent , will try . But can this be applied to sample based synths as I wanted to make sample based synths of some of the rarities I have access to.

The core.file_player node can load multisample sets, including SFZ files and Samplemaps, but it currently doesn't offer disk streaming, so if you have large amounts of samples, it might not be the most efficient solution.
