Ok guys, here's link https://www.mediafire.com/file/td4okx3moua80hd/FREE_KNOB_SET.zip/file
300x300, 128 frames.
@Christoph-Hart i made it in blander, this effect you can get by adding texture to roughnes in node editor.
-
@ulrik I'm using Blender here.

@dustbro Hmm... Seems to be so complete, I'm a bit afraid of the learning curve even if I won't go 3D animation :)
-
Thanks these look nice.
-
@ustk Blender is famous for having a horrible learning curve, but once you get the hang of it's unintuitiveness you'll be fine.
-
@d-healey Thanks for this one ;) I just wached a guy making a knob, I almost hanged myself
-
It took me over 2 years to learn in my free time, but I can complete a full design in a few days now.
Maybe I could make a tutorial on some basics. -
@dustbro Yes please!
-
@dustbro Yes please do, it would be appreciated!
-
back in the day - when I used to do 3d modelling - I used a bunch of different stuff - the easiest to get your head around for casual use was TrueSpace. It's windows only but its free these days...
-
I used Blender, 3Ds Max and other stuff for 3D design. In my exprerience, Blender is really cool, alternatively I definately suggest Cinema 4D for ease of use. Yeah it's not free but I think one of the best for 3d GUI design. Very easy and great results.
Also for better render performance Octane render is GREAT. It is a render plugin that you can use in Blender and Cinema 4D too.
-
@orange I agree. Cinema 4D is killer. Probably the best out there... but Blender is free
Haven't upgraded to octane render engine yet. Is it an improvement in photorealism, or just render speed? -

Haven't upgraded to octane render engine yet. Is it an improvement in photorealism, or just render speed?Octane Render is a serial killer :) Photo realism is waaayy much better. Becasue it has different unique material design system. So as a result, the reflections, lights and materials are much more detailed, realistic and easy to design. Also the speed is ultra fast when compared to Cinema 4D's physical render.

These look great! I'll try them out :) Thanks
-
@arminh Have you upgraded to Blender 2.81 yet?

In fact, modelling simple objects like button doesn't seem to be as hard as I thought after watching some tutorials
(watching this guy at the moment: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOKHwx1VCdgnxwbjyb9Iu1g)What could be a good addition would be how to output a filmstrip in Blender, that I haven't found online yet... :)

@ustk After approximately 12h learning blender, here's the first test sample:
Far from perfect as the perfection lies in the details, along with the devil :)
But I am reassured now...
Any suggestion is welcome! -
@ustk Looks like 12 hours well spent. I await your tutorial :)
