Audio Input for Standalone Effects Application

I'm wondering if there would be a way to choose the soundcards input source for a standalone effects application (like a mic on sound card input 1 for example).

I've just checked the custom settings floating tile to see and there's nothing in there. Surely there's a way to do this?

Something similar to how the midi channels list works but for audio inputs instead.

@d-healey I was also going to ask the same question, a little differently: Is there any plan to implement this?
It would definetely be a huge feature, that would make HISE shine within the arena of audio development tools (I'm a Kontakt and UVI Falcon user).
