Visual Studio 2026
-
Intel Performance Primitives has just had an update and now integrates with VS26 and since Microsoft has removed the community download link for VS22 I think 2026 should be the new default version for HISE.
Might also be a good idea if HISE could handle the situation where the user has the pro version of VS instead of the community edition.
Once this change is implemented I'll update the bootcamp... again :)

@David-Healey oh god I hope they don‘t force you Copilot down the throat like they did with anything else from Microslop.
But yes HISE 5 would be a good point to switch.
-
Alright, that's done. The new default is now VS2026 but you can set / leave the compiler settings to "Visual Studio 2022" if you don't want to update for now, then the plugin export will create the project files for VS2022.
- I had to update the JUCE6 Projucer to allow creating VS2026 projects, but that should work now. In JUCE8 it's already there.
- the link in the Setup Wizard now points to the VS2026 download link.
- the Projucer files for the HISE standalone and plugin build require VS2026 now, as I don't want to branch this. If you want to keep compiling HISE with VS2022, then you just need to set the Platform Toolset back to
v143and you should be able to open the .sln file with VS2022 again.
Let me know if I have missed something in the process. Has the IPP link changed?
Oh and I've also removed the
arch:avxflag now in all project templates so we're back in SSE land with older CPU model support. -
Noice!

Has the IPP link changed
Don't think so, but here it is: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/developer/tools/oneapi/base-toolkit-download.html
PSA:
After pulling the latest changes with the usualgit pullyou also need to rungit submodule update --recursive
