I need 1 second of silence when plugin loads...
-
depending on how a user has set up fx in my instrument, there can be a pop / click when loading a DAW project which has instances of my plugin etc.... (largely due to ShapeFX
)What's a nice method to introduce some silence oninit.... ??
-
@DanH What about a simple gain? Set the gain to -100, then after 1 second set it to 0.
-
@d-healey that's more or less what I was thinking....
-
@DanH I've done exactly what David's mentioning before. I think I used the Content.callAfterDelay to set the gain knob from -100dB to 0dB after 500ms or however long is necessary.
-
@HISEnberg Thanks will check it out, although I think the timer is working just fine....
-
@DanH If you are sure the cause is the shaper, could it be because of an offset issue with a signal = 0.0 ?
Because if you have an offset blocker behind, the filter takes time to settle because of its group delay. In such a case it'd be better to compensate for the offset right after the shaper -
@ustk It's normally the Bias setting... I'd normally just switch the filters on but this changes the sound a bit so not appropriate for an update sadly.
-
@DanH The problem with the bias is that it's a user parameter, not a perfect arithmetically computed offset value. But this would only be possible in a third party node context...
-
@ustk yes I won't be using it again
