I'd like to be able to modulate the depth of a filter envelope - with something as basic as note velocity - I'm doing it "manually" right now but its "jumpy" and I cant smooth the response in any way..

is there an approach people are taking?

@Lindon by depth do you mean freq 'Q'? I was just messing around with midi stuff myself rn. Have you tried this?

@Lindon Just because I thought of it I had to do it. I've never hooked this up like this before so idk if somebody knows a "better" way but this seems to work pretty cool if this is the effect you're looking for.

Velocity Freq Mod Smoothing with Gain.gif

In this video, the first node im messing with is adjusting the smooth time of the gain knob moving from zero to the current value set by the velocity. The second node is smoothing the jumping from value to value of the freq'Q'. Right now its a fixed gain range set by the 'add' knob on the pma scale node. You could go further and customize that.

Sorry if this is all irelevent. This is what I do when IM avoiding work. hahah.

          Heres a snip.

No. If you look closely Im talking about the Filter Envelope not the filter.

@Lindon just modulate the attack level of the envelope?

yeah I thought of that too... the problem then is what Im doing is reducing the output of the modulator at one stage of its transit...so I did it to the sustain level too...but then Im not sure if this is exactly the same as reducing the envelope depth....its beginning to boggle my mind a bit...
