I asked this question before but I dont find it in here to see the answer I received, so I will ask again, I can press the drum pad button and it sound, it light up and the DAW GET THE SOUND FROM MY plug-in, but it doesn't record the midi note straight from the plug-in when I press the drum pad, it will record the midi note if I use the midi controller, ive try various settings on the "settings" section of HISE but no luck, any help will be nice, sorry for double ask this question

@WepaAudio The problem is that HISE isn't outputting MIDI notes and I'm not sure you can do that from an instrument plugin - do you know of a plugin that can do that?

@d-healey maybe koala sampler do that because everything its built in, sorry, then adding pads to a plug in is useless, I thought I used plug ins with pads before and done that, but I might be wrong'

@d-healey I’m100% sure plugins cant output midi to the track, at lest it is in no way a reliable standard. usually things like pattern or arps are made draggable to output them, recording midi on a plugins drumpad is probably very timing inaccurate. There are ways plugins can route midi information to other plugins or tracks in certain DAWs, but thats not standard either. At least not in VST world. Maybe with CLAP one day

Message.sendToMidiOut() should do it, in conjunction with the Enable Midi Out flag in the Settings

@ustk thanx, I have enabled the midi out before but didn't have the: Message.sendToMidiOut(), thank you, now when I add it it crash Hise, is there a specific area to place this? ive try it everywhere, on Noteon,onNote off, onControl , onInit, idk if its my plug in or its me, thanx for your help and your next answer.

@ustk said in clicking 'drum pad" buttons OF MY PLUG-IN in my DAW dont record midi notes:

                    Isn't that only for effects?

@ustk Hmmm not sure how that would work with "drum pads" because they don't go through the MIDI message system.

You'd have to link the click event of your drum pad to a call to Message.sendToMidiOut() somehow I would guess.

@Orvillain But how would you generate the Message from a button click? Closest I can see is MessageHolder, but that doesn't have the sendToMidiOut function.

@WepaAudio If you enable midi out and set the Message.sendToMidiOut() in your on noteOn and on noteOff callbacks it should work

Here it's working in Logic, however you you have to enable the routing of midi from the instrument to the same track in Logic
I'll test it in Live and come back...
