as I wrote about the hise license cost thread:
1-Now that Christoph has concocted a (simple) protection system and we still have the choice of commercial license and extended protection.
2-That even with this simple protection we can sell our creations.

      =

Create a Hise shop (or Hart's shop) with % (fees) for Christophe on sales to compensate the fact that HISE is free, but allowing us to create professional instruments (?).

      like 5 or 10% on sales ...

      Who is for?

      • Me ! : D

      And you ?

      Christoph ? ;) :) :D

      Excuse me i'm French.

The copy protection system has nothing to do with the fact that you need a commercial license to bypass the GPL restrictions for proprietary use.

However we are currently discussing license fees and ways of comarketing plugins built with HISE. Whatever shop we might launch will always be non-exclusive and rather an affiliate link setup so you won‘t commit to anything.

                @Christoph, @David:
Yes, because French and badly translated by google trad there must have been confusion between commercail and owner, etc. ...
and YES the given copy protection does not replace the GPL license system and others ...

But in the absence of a precise commercial license today, and as a way to overcome this, the idea of a financial participation seemed interesting to me.

This does not replace the juce license included in HISE.
But the HISE shop seems to me a good compromise between promoting HISE, and rewarding you (Christoph). Because on a free solution that allows us if we want, without saying so, to sell our products in a commercial way, this would be a way to rebalance the balance. Meanwhile a more precise commercial license.

And then the VST sales platforms are legion on the net today. at least one HISE platform would also advertise the software.

PS: again translated by google. If there are bad interpretations, it's not me. Trying to override and guess the bottom of my thinking :)

                Excuse me i'm French.

You can sell any HISE made library or effect. The copy restriction is irrelevant. If you buy a proprietary license from Christoph then you can sell your library without releasing the source code. Without a license from Christoph you have the release the source code under the terms of the GPL license (you can still give Christoph a percentage of your sales though if you want).

or the licensing system used by Tracktion for Tracktion Engine (that is like JUCE's one)...

@ossian1961 Just had a look at the Tracktion website. The licensing system they show is a bit misleading. Nowhere on that page does it mention that Tracktion can be used under the terms of the GPL license, you have to go to the github link to find it.
