Issue With Audio Units Validation on El Capitan 10.11.6 and Sierra 10.12.6 (iTunes 12.8.2.3)
-
Looks like it's a Projucer/Apple issue. Not one that can be fixed on the HISE end. Unless Christoph wants to add the suggested Projucer modification.

@d-healey
yeah it's too bad because
it's not only about the Hise Created plugins!
a lot of other Plugins are having the Same ProblemChristoph could probably try to contact Apple
to let hem Know about This Problem!
i Hope Apple will Fix This!Thank Dave for your Fast Response!

i Hope Apple will Fix This!I'm sure they will address a problem for an OS that is 6 years old, Apple is known for stuff like this...
-
@Christoph-Hart
that's what i Thought!
it is really Stupid they add this update in January this Year for users who want to sync the latest iphones but they screwed all users who are still using Logic xas somebody wrote on a juce forum is there a Way to unlink the CoreAudioKit.framework for audio units in the projucer
and will this affect the Plugin?the other option i found is a script that is called Validate all AU's
it works when i enable the Validate all AU's
could you please Check it out to See if it is safe!

I wouldn't use it
https://forum.juce.com/t/issue-with-audio-unit-on-10-11/48796/79
I consider this a security risk because it’s brutally bypassing the auvaltool by replacing the binary with a dummy one

@d-healey @Christoph-Hart
Hi Christoph & David i really Found what the Problem is !
it can Be Fixed easily by Apple by removing a Device Support Update from Apple Servers not Really Meant for El Capitan And Sierra
Please take the Time to Read Below!
on El Capitan and Sierra when you install iTunes 12.8.2.3 it installs the MobileDevice.framework (988.222.1) it's Working to validate Audio Unitsthe problem is that as soon you plug in an IPad with ios 12.5.5 El Capitan and Sierra will offer a new Software Update "Device Support Update" it will install MobileDevice.framework (1369.122.1.100.2) probably for Monterey?
and it is not Suitable for El Capitan or Sierra after this update it Does Not Validate Audio Units AnymoreWhen you plug an iPad with IOS 12.5.5 on Computers with the MacOS list below
it will not offer the Device Support Update that is installing MobileDevice.framework (1369.122.1.100.2) on El Capitan & Sierra
So i Think this Update was Supposed to Be for Monterey? not For El Capitan or SierraBelow are Screenshots of MacOS Versions With the MobileDevice.framework installed
High Sierra 10.13.6 = MobileDevice.framework (988.250.11.100.2) "Audio Units Validation OK"
Mojave 10.14.6 = MobileDevice.framework (988.266.4) Audio Units Validation OK
Catalina 10.15.7 = MobileDevice.framework (1368.12.2) Audio Units Validation OK
Monterey 12.4 = MobileDevice.framework (1369.121.2) Audio Units Validation OK
the problem is not the iTunes 12.8.2.3 Update!
the problem seems to be :
Apple update Servers are sending
the Wrong Device Support Updates that installs MobileDevice.framework (1369.122.1.100.2) on El Capitan & Sierra ! -
@Christoph-Hart @d-healey
for an update i do not think it will Happen!
so for the users who already have the Problem i made a Small Installer with a Modified (1369.122.1.100.2) MobileDevice.framework
it’s probably the only solution because when we are using an older Version of this framework the Apple Servers always want to Re-install the Faulty One
so here is what i did :
i Used a Modified (1369.122.1.100.2) MobileDevice.framework and Created an Installer!
1: The user has to Boot in Recovery to Disable SIP
2: then Re-Boot in El Capitan or Sierra
3: use the Installer Package to install the Modified MobileDevice.framework
4: Open Logic X and Re-Scan the Failed Plugins to Validate them
5: Now the user can Re-Boot in Recovery to Re-Enable SIP
6: Re-Boot on OS with Validated Plugins
i Tested it on 3 different Mac Computers with El Capitan and Sierra
and the Faulty Update does not Show up Anymore in Software Update!
P.S.
the user has to do this only Once!
it Should Fix the Problem Now

@LinuxVst
Hi, I have the same issue with pro tools plugins AAX on pro tools 12.
I would really appreciate if someone could resend me a valid link to the install that package to clean my El Capitan OS.Looks like the google drive is no longer working for that link.
You are my last hope...
Thank you :)

@jongnaiad
Hi i fixed the Link
this Solution is only for those who are still Working Under El Capitan and Sierra
you have to Disable SIP to re-install the old Frameworkthis is not the perfect solution
apple will overwrite it it you do updates
so you need to re-install after Updates -
@LinuxVst Is this still the only solution to this problem? I have an user with this problem.

@bendurso Someone in the JUCE forum said that removing the link to CoreAudioKit does the trick to make it work. (Ref)
Is it possible in Hise? How could we do that?
Did you read this thread? That's the same solution posted earlier, no?

Mm, this thread is from 2022, and the post I mentioned about Juce is from Sep 2023. I don't know if it is still an insecure solution or if it will work.
-
@bendurso Yeah it's the same thing I think. As the poster said the previously mentioned method of implementing the solution messed up his git versioning so he came up with an alternative way of doing it. It's the same fix just a different way of applying the change. So presumably it still has the same issue.
