Graphics lag

Hi!
VSTi and DAW graphics starts to lagging when using blur layer or when interface size is more than 100% .

Is there way to avoid it?

I'm using 2015 iMac with macOS Monterey.

The blur function is super slow because it has to be calculated on the CPU. Open GL won't help much, but at this point I would just recommend not using it on bigger areas.

@Christoph-Hart what if it only needs to be calculated once, i.e. for blurring the background while a settings menu hovers on top?

in that case, would the overlaid settings panel have to have opaque set to enabled in order to not cause re-draws of the blurred background? would controls in that settings panel not having "opaque" enabled affect the blurred panel which is not directly visible underneath them?
