[Scriptnode] control gain via knob using only 0.5 to 1.0 range
-
@Christoph-Hart oh ok... I never "think" SNEX here by default...

I've gone with your method Christoph. I have compiled the networks in my project to a dll and I've clicked the little snowflake in each network so they are using the the dll.
When I try to export my project though I get this message.
cable_expr needs to be wrapped into a compilable DSP network
-
if you've compiled the networks you can replace all the script FX with the hardcoded counterparts and get rid of the scriptnode overhead altogether so that error message is actually a good advice however it's a bit misleading so now it says:

This post is deleted! -
@Christoph-Hart Thank you

The compilation worked when using hardcoded effects. However one of my networks works fine as a ScriptFX until I try and use the compiled version, then it no longer functions and I don't know why. It's a very simple network.

@d-healey If you create public parameters at the FX level (the upmost top level bar) and connect them to the Delay Time and Pans parameters, it works.
After doing some tests it seems that they both don't retain their values if not controlled bymainpublic parameters. -
@Matt_SF I dont quite understand, could you post a snippet please?
-
@d-healey sure :

@d-healey You did it with the mix parameter. Sorry, I'm the one being unclear
-
Wow that's weird, if the delay node isn't connected to a parameter, it will in fact be initialised with a zero delay time (because the sample rate isn't known yet) if used in a compiled node.
It's fixed now, but weird that I haven't encountered this yet, it's rather basic as you said :)
-
BTW you can optimize the wet path like this:
- Use a multi container, this will automatically split up the stereo channels into LR (the
mul
node does nothing and the jdelay delays the right channel only. - If you don't modulate the delay time you can set the limit to the exact value of the delay time parameter - this will save some memory because the delay won't allocate as much (in this case it's 1-2MB of memory).
- Use a multi container, this will automatically split up the stereo channels into LR (the
