COMING FOR BETA TESTING.

@tod-slaughter Thank you!

Hi,
Thanks to everyone who provided information for this. Here is the installation guide I've written for my HISE software. It's licensed as CC-BY-SA so please adapt it as needed for your own use. Let me know if you think I missed anything important, spot any typos, or think something isn't explained as clearly as it could be.

@d-healey awesome job!!!!!!!!!!!!! 81.6 GB available on Mac hard disk?? That's my MacBook :)

I made you a PDF file in case you want to include it in your package, and you can write some useful information about your product, what each buttons/knobs/slider does and how to use it.
-
@jay Thank you for the kind offer, however I don't include PDFs with my products for a few reasons:
- Marketing (the more selfish reason): by making the user visit the website to read the user guide I am reminding them that the website exists and while they are there they may check out other products.
- I like to include multi-media (videos, gifs, audio) in my user guides which don't translate well to PDF.
- I often make small changes to my user guides when I update the software or even if I just notice a typo or something isn't worded as well as it could be, this renders any PDFs of the user guide redundant.
-
-
@jay That's a cool mockup. Does my Mac installer include an RTAS plugin? It shouldn't include AAX. You also need a GNU logo on there, and maybe a penguin too :P No need to mention xtant audio, I'm keep Librewave as a separate brand.
-
@d-healey ok, just send me the info you need it to have and I change it right away, LOL
-
@jay Well like I say I don't send PDFs with my products, I do appreciate the effort but it's not something I will be able to make use of :)

Hi guys! Spectral-modeled Electric piano ready for beta testing. Mac/PC VST AU. Download links below.
Mac >>>> https://sampleson.com/temp/Markus_VST-AU_MAC_NRF.zip
Win >>>> https://sampleson.com/temp/Markus_VST_Win_NRF.zipWhat's my biggest concern? performance since it includes 60+ modules

Wrote on another thread:
Tested !
opened in all my daws without problems !
performance ?: 25/26 % max when playing like a fool on it. beetween 15 and 20% when playing full Chord.sounds really good. but:
easy to saturate with high velocity (it maybe wanted, it's part of the sound style ?). Sound is a little bit "brighter" than other mark II or stage 73 vst i have.
Maybe put an LPF filter (of course Marl II hasn't) and calling it "Brightness" to control and have some darker/buttery soft sound ?
And maybe just lowering each partials master volume.
But as a freeware it's absolutly playable and nice sound ! (just waveforms, no sample. Absolute fabulous !)
Ah ... if you want to do freeware vs commercial. This as a freeware is good. Just add keyboard and preset system (without presets, but just so the user can record his own settings) for the commercial version (and maybe the filter in it, not in the freeware)
-
@staiff thanks for taking the time to test it!!!!
A darker sound can be archived lowering the fundamental and bell on UI. But I know what you are talking about. Maybe the default preset should be darker.
It's all about harmonics mixing. But they are...... A lot!!!What's your preferred Rhodes VST ?

Have you built this with the latest develop branch or with HISE master 1.5.1?
Projects like these might heavily benefit from the new modulation architecture in terms of CPU performance.
-
@christoph-hart Mac is built with develop branch downloaded 5 days ago. Win is 1.5.0 Will compile on PC newest Hise version before releasing
-
Ah OK, did you figure out the weird GUI lagginess issues?
-
@christoph-hart nope. In fact I use 1.5.0 master for editing, and develop for compiling. I can give you access to my Mac via TeamViewer if you want to investigate it.
-
@christoph-hart oh... And develop gives me unexpected quits after those lags
