Logic Pro Automation Lag
-
I just tested one of my plugs on High Sierra / Logic x. No lag in automation there.
What OS and Logic version are you using? -
@Dan-Korneff Logic Pro 10.7.4 (last one) and macOS BigSur 11.5.2
I'm talking about moving the slider dragging with mouse over the plugin's UI. Not in the parameter list from Logic panels (no lag there).
Funny thing is all of the HISE's lags. Oranges's ones and all of mines. Arturia's went fine.
-
@hisefilo Yeah, that's how I was doing it. I'll test your snip on a Big Sur here.
-
@Dan-Korneff thanks mate!
-
Yes, same thing happens here too. I tested as Instrument and also an FX plugin, same results for both.
- Monterey 12.2.1
- Logic Pro 10.7.2
- M1 Max Macbook Pro
-
@orange OMG
-
@orange Does it happens with other plugins?? or is just my snippet

I did some tests. Unfortunately this Logic Pro Automation Lag issue happens with other Hise exported plugins too. I also tested Apple Silicon exported universal binaries (Intel + Apple Silicon) and also only Intel binaries (runs with Rosetta on M1). All give the same problem here. I tested other plugin brands too, they don't give that issue.
It's not about your snippet. My test system:
- Monterey 12.2.1
- Logic Pro 10.7.2
- M1 Max Macbook Pro

@orange @Dan-Korneff thanks mates for taking the time to test it!! I guess we need to invoque @d-healey and @Christoph-Hart super-powers !!!
-
@hisefilo I'm seeing the lag on Monterey + Logic 10.7.4.
Catalina + Logic Pro x seems to work. -
Does this only happen on m1 systems or Intel too?
-
@d-healey My system is Intel
-
@d-healey Big Sur and Monterrey M1 confirmed here.
-
It seems like the lag is on BigSur and Monterey, both Intel & Apple Silicon devices. Previous macOS versions seems to work.
-
@d-healey do you think this can be fixed? or is a major issue related to Hise Slider class?
-
@hisefilo I don't see why it couldn't be fixed, but I have no idea how to fix it. This seems like a Christoph level issue to me.
-
@d-healey then we need to alt-64 Christoph-Hart @Christoph-Hart :)
