@tod-slaughter Although it's not the main focus of this video I do demonstrate how to merge multi-mics
But here is the best resource for mult-mic info: https://forum.hise.audio/topic/75/multimic-samples

Ok thanks David. I am alwayd busy with work so I appreciate all the pointers.
-
How do you assign gains to each mic position?
-
@tod-slaughter You need to add a simple gain effect for each mic (put them in the master FX slots) and then you need to route the channels correctly.
-
@d-healey Ah thank you :D Easy when you know how
-
@d-healey I was wondering this as well. Thanks for the pic!
-
Can there be more than 3 or is that the limit?
-
@tod-slaughter I think you can have up to 8 stereo outs. If you right click in the routing popup you can change the number of channels.
-
So up to 8 sets of stereo samples can be merged. Interesting
-
Yes but be aware that multimic samples must have the exact same sample length, so you can‘t throw in arbitrary samples and abuse the multimic system as generic mixing device.
-
So a baked in "black hole" reverb would have to have the same length as a dry mic and that has to be be planned in from the beginning. One method is by looping all samples and chopping the tails to the same length.
-
Yes exporting equal length samples from a DAW is not exactly rocket science if you align them vertically ;)

Thanks for this :D
