According to Steinberg a VST3 on Windows should be a folder with a .vst3 extension - like a bundle on MacOS or GNU/Linux. But HISE is producing single dll style files.

I tried updating to the latest VST3 SDK but that didn't make a difference. Any ideas?

@d-healey mine are single .vst3 files, including ones ive downloaded from other vendors so i'm not sure why it says that tbh

@iamlamprey Yeah a lot of them are, but if the developer is using a recent version of the SDK they "should" be bundles and I'd like mine to be bundles so I can get info from within the folder - like the version number :)

@d-healey Actually I wouldn't mess with how JUCE handles it just because a random Steinberg doc says something.

@Christoph-Hart According to an admin on the JUCE forum JUCE should output bundles on Windows, I've posted on the JUCE forum for more info.

So VST3s made via Projucer generate a binary, VST3s made through cmake generate a bundle.

@d-healey did you figure out a way to get the version number of a plugin?

@dustbro I put the vst3 in a folder myPlugin.vst3 and also in that folder I put a text file called version.txt which I can read from HISE :)
