dynamics modules distorted and digitized when compiled? (vst fx)

i remember reading the forum someone else having the issue im having. in all compiled vst fx plugins all of the dynamics modules are distorted sounding and the gate has a digitized type sound overall it just sounds VERY bad. also none of my VU meters are responding on the compiled plugins yet they work within HISE. i have the most up to date version and im using VS2017
if i remember correct people were using an older VST sdk 2.3 maybe. im not sure. who has the solution thanks!

Is the dynamics working on instrument plugins? And which host are you using?

@christoph-hart tested in cubase 8.5 and cubase 5
and the code you gave is how i had implemented all the VU and LED meters in everything ive made. even the plugin we are working on the meters dont function in the that once compiled either
but no im using the dynamics module to make a little comp and it sounds really bad distorted and digitized...bad digital distortion

@christoph-hart yeah it sounds the same im not sure if it was @d-healey or one of the other very active members had mentioned something about this a few months ago and said using a different VST sdk fixed it. an older one i believe. but i cant find it in the forum anymore. i believe it was using 2.3 and not 2.4 but i dont know where to get 2.3 to try
