      @Mwins Hi bro!
      Unfortunately no luck to my end.
      Tried in Logic, Reaper, and Studio One without any success.

      I also noticed that it was impossible to control play, stop buttons and PlaybackSpeed (either by script or Property editor).

      So it seems that Midi Player needs some extra work from @Christoph-Hart in order to work properly (And unfortunately i suppose he has tons of work for the whole new environment of Hise so i just cross fingers and wait).

        @DimitrisSP It's possible to control both play and stop in the midi player, to control the playback speed you have to fiddle with the

        Engine.setHostBpm()

          @DimitrisSP You have to make a reference to the MidiPlayer like this:

          Skärmavbild 2021-08-19 kl. 17.38.38.png

          then you get a reference like this:

          const var MIDIPlayer1 = Synth.getMidiPlayer("MIDI Player1");

          and you will be able to set play & stop and a lot of other stuff

            @ulrik Hi my friend and thanks a lot for the usefull information.
            I checked again and i saw that you are right.
            I was also making reference as typed MIDI Player but i was trying to get play and stop controlled by setAttribute and i came to the wrong conclusion.

            I was fool enough to not press the "Esc" button and to see what is available.

            By the way did you managed to have drag to DAW working?

                you might know, you might not, but you can export midi from the midi player and have it saved in a specific location that will work for mac and pc...

                  @BWSounds Hi my friend.
                  I know about the export of midi file...but it does not cover the drag to DAW.
                  I am creating Acoustic Drums plugins (Similar to Superior or Ez Drummer from Toontrack, or BFD from Fxpansion, or SSD4, SSD5 from Steven Slate or ADDICTIVE Drums etc).
                  In all those Drumming instruments (and the same goes for mine also) apart from all the other features there is a huge Midi-Groove Browser (with Hundrends or even Thousands of MIDI files) and the end user can play any file on the browser and simply drag n drop to DAW...this is the standard workaround for all proffessional Drumming Instruments...So there is not any advantage to save an already loaded midi file that actualy already exists in the Library.

                  And anyway if drag to DAW does not work then the user must open the folder with the existing or saved midi files in a separate window and drag to DAW from there (Something that does not serve the practical and productive way of working on a Studio project)...so in the end your Drumming Instrument will be considered as non practical...no proffessional...and it will definitely not sell...Thats why i told in an other topic that Drumming Instruments without the Drag to Daw feature or/and advanced Midi Browser are completely doomed.

                    Please make a demo snippet with how you use the export and a list of OS / DAWs that don't work. Last time I checked it worked pretty well (and PercX is using almost the same functionality and nobody complained about the drag and drop not working yet).

                      @Christoph-Hart Hi Christoph.
                      Based on what you said about PercX and almost the same functionality
                      I suppose i am doing something wrong or maybe miss something...

                      Here is a snippet of a basic set of midi files loaded to the MIDIPlayer using 2 viewports and a play and stop button to control playback

                      I also send the MidiFiles folder of the project in order everything should be identical

                      MidiFiles.zip

                      Loading a midi file, Play and Stop work like a charm but when i try to drag the loaded midi to DAW i see the grabbing hand on the Floating Tile, i see the renctancle during the drag 'n' drop operation but i dont have any midi file dropped on the instrument track of the DAW.

                      In my end i tested with Logic Pro X, Reaper, and Studio One

                      Maybe i am working on a very wrong way on that Drag to DAW functionality.

                        Can you drag it to a finder window? It basically just creates a temporary midi file and from the on the OS / DAW overtakes the dragging so this might be the first thing to check.

                          I just pulled the snippet from DimitrsSP and tried it out - on the Mac. It does not work.
                          You can't drag & drop an open MidiFile onto the Finder.

                                      @Christoph-Hart Yes....Yes....Yesssss.....Master....You are a living Legend :flexed_biceps:

                                      It works on the Hise plugin, and to the exported Au and Vst plugins...
                                      Confirmed in Logic Pro x, Cubase, Reaper and Studio One.
                                      But there are 2 small problems....
                                      1) If you load a midi and drag n drop to any daw it works like a charm...but if you load another midi after that(or try to drag n drop the same midi for second time) it does not work...I noticed that if you close the interface from the edit button of the daw and load again the instrument you can drag n drop again any loaded midi file...and that story goes on...Or if you try it from Hise plugin in any daw the same thing happens...you can drag n drop any loaded midi file but in order to drag again a second midi file you have to close and open again the (interface preview, or Hit compile and it works...and so on)

                                      It looks to me (Without been sure) like it is not deleting the temp midi file and it stucks there but when the inerface opens again or you hit compile it is refreshed and probably the temp file is deleted.

                                      2) The midi file that is created and dropped to daw is named as temp...
                                      Is there a way to have the name of the actual midi file that was loaded?

                                        @DimitrisSP Yes this is exactly the problem I am having, it's a major inconvenience if you have multiple midi files in the plugin. However, If you reload the plugin, the drag/drop resets and everything works again. Is there a way to reset the plugin or initialize the engine via scripting @Christoph-Hart ?

                                        Right now we are basically limited to one single drag and drop action per plugin instance. It only allows for the drag to take place once... Is there any workaround?

                                          @Mwins Exactly...I looked further in that situation because my instrument depends a lot on that functionality (Acoustic Drums with about 2000 midi files/performances) and the worst is that i found that i have crashes...
                                          See this topic...https://forum.hise.audio/topic/4656/midi-overlay-panels-in-compiled-plugin-crashing-daws

                                          If it is easy for you please check if you have also the same crashes...or maybe it is a problem in my system?

                                          In this way we should confirm if it is a Hise bug or not.
                                          If it is a Hise bug it has to be fixed...otherwise it is a dead end for anyone who uses a midi overlay panel for drag n drop or any other functionality in his plugin

                                            @DimitrisSP Yep, I get the same crash in Logic Pro X. It is intermittent and usually happens a time or two after the plugin has been freshly installed or recognized by Logic. This crash has been happening for a while when you use more than one midi overlay for the same midi player (I'm not certain and I have not tested this theory but it seems so)
