I'm a little confused - is Plugin Doctor simply an FFT display of the before and after?

@clevername27 it's an analysis software. You can run you plugin's into it and it will basically display what it does to the audio signal (frequency/phase response, distortion etc...)

        Develop branch
        Win10 & VS17 / Ventura & Xcode 14. 3

@Matt_SF Thanks, Matt. It sounds like it's indeed FFT displays of the before and after. Cheers. It is possible to have a plugin that simply copies other plugins, though there's obviously ethical questions there.

Hardware emulations have been cloned/analyzed similarly for years (before Plugin Doctor). Also, it is not such easy to clone a plugin without a deep knowledge of DSP. I am talking about really good plugins/emulations.

Lol I'm waiting for the first plugin that is marketed as a simulation of another plugin that is a simulation of a hardware FX...

sorry to revive an old thread. does anyone use hise as an fx plug in plugin doctor? in spite of having a working export of hise as fx plugin, plugin doctor seems to think its an instrument

@Adam_G you need to load metaplugin first in PD, then load hise in metaplugin

Can't help pressing F5 in the forum...

@ustk and compile the hise plug in with backend as fx flag

@Adam_G ignore it, just plug the cables into the inputs

This is what you want to do. You want audio going through HISE. Are you sure you built it with HISE_BACKEND_AS_FX=1preprocessor definition?

solved; the trick is to export the multichannel version.

thanks for the help as usual :D @ustk @aaronventure
