Polyshape FX in an FX plugin
-
I realised I was stealing someone elses thread - so here we are all shiney and new, but context:
- I'm building an FX plugin
- I want some serious distortion
- Which under instrument circumstances would mean a polyshaper FX in the voice effects of a sound generator....
meanwhile...
@d-healey said in trigger the Arpeggiator with artificial noteons:
@Lindon I know no more than this:
so thats not exactly enlightening I think.
-
so if I add a sine wave generator and turn its volume to (huh) -100dB, but add a polyshape FX will that actually do anything?
-
if not anyone know a decent way to get this sort of distortion effect into an effect plugin?
-
@Lindon I think scriptnode is the way to go.
-
@d-healey yeah even SNEX - I was thinking about building a rectifier anyway....
so just two more entire worlds of stuff to learn....
-
@Lindon And FAUST soon (hopefully)
-
@d-healey - oh yeah I forgot - that too...
-
Anyone???
-
@Lindon there's a video made by @Dan-Korneff about implementing a simple algorithm in a SNEX module (and compiling it) :
https://forum.hise.audio/post/49864Maybe that will help you ? I'm starting to know my way around scriptnode but not around SNEX I'm afraid...

@Matt_SF Okay thanks Matt, and thanks @Dan-Korneff
