hello, i just opened an old project i had done some scriptnode stuff in. I can no longer find the tremolo and transcient effects that were present in scriptnode. how to recover them? thank you :)

@yall hey, some nodes were removed, there's no way to recover them. Only solutions : either build the 'old' version of HISE you used for your project, or create your own tremolo and TM with scriptnode...

        Develop branch
        Win10 & VS17 / Ventura & Xcode 14. 3

@matt_sf the tremolo is quite simple but the designer transient was interesting. on older versions you cannot compile the dsp network. @Christoph-Hart , For Christmas please :)

@yall those nodes were "meta" nodes, which means they were actually build in scriptnode.

Here is the the transient designer as scriptnode patch (with a few modifications), but you might play around with the internals to match your preference.

Don't remember to compile it before you actually use it, the CPU goes down from 15% to 2% on my Macbook, so it's worth it.

Can you clarify this ? Does this apply to just working in Hise or in the compiled plugin ?
I am not entirely sure if I need to compile what I make in scriptnode for CPU optimisation on the exported plugin or not?

The networks that you create are not converted to a C++ class unless you compile it to a .dll. So that applies to both HISE and your exported plugin (however the exported plugin will not use the .dll but compile the networks and link it statically inside the plugin - otherwise you would have to carry around another dynamic library which is unnecessary).

So if you have a network which uses more CPU than it should be, make sure to compile it. The amount of saved performance varies heavily (eg. if you're using a big convolution impulse response, compiling it will not save any cycles, but sample-based modulation or complex routing networks will cut away the overhead of the scriptnode interpreter when compiled).

Could you post the script for the filter delay so I can compare to my concoction?

@dustbro That one didn't age too well - it used too much old stuff. I'm redesigning it from scratch, but it also uses another meta node which needs to be migrated (the width_bandpass filter).
