      @David-Healey Hi.

      I decided to remove everything and reinstall it all (of course, I did watch the instruction video). So I did. I downloaded everything from the description link you provided. I copied your command. I did install Faust. Then, I compiled it just like in the video. I ran the program, created a new project, saved the XML, set up the Faust path, created a script FX, allowed compilation, created a Faust node, created a new Faust file, and then... that exact same error and crash.

      I'm tired. What other info should I give you, sir?

      @David-Healey hello again
      thanks for your help,
      i cleaned the build, deleted all HISE and Faust files and folders
      Screenshot 2026-08-06 200332.png
      the i cloned develope branch again and compiled everything again based on the video,
      then i downloaded and installed faust with no errors, i chosed thefaust path on setting, tried a new script fx and loading faust, and crashed again. Screenshot 2026-08-06 204638.png

      @David-Healey said in New to HISE for specific purposes, i have lot of things to ask.:

      How many versions of HISE and the HISE source are on your system?

      i deleted the execute file from pre build version, there was no uninstaller on folders or controll panel, should i try delete any file titled HISE (i'll search whit everything) and compile again?
      i cleared solutions every time i was about to build a new solution like you said. so i think just 1.

      I hadn't seen that one before. That video doesn't show how to compile HISE.

      I have a full beginner course for HISE that includes compiling it from source, it's free: https://audiodevschool.com/courses/hise-bootcamp/

      That was the same video, i just copied youtube link from the bootcamp page :)
      i built HISE for windows with faust on the same way you said, and tried on two diffrent version of hise and faust, every 4 combinations results crash on first try to load a FAUST node on script node.
      What other information should i give you sir?

      Yes, if you want an effect that HISE doesn't provide then that is the way to do it. Faust, ScriptNode, SNEX, C++, are all good options. Which one you choose depends on the algorithm you're using and which tools you're comfortable with.

      7.do you suggest any of these so i can use prebuild scripts? i know some python, should i learn c++ and others?

    • New to HISE for specific purposes, i have lot of things to ask.

      Hi. It's been a week since I discovered HISE. I installed the precompiled version, messed around with it, learned how to compile it, learned about its features and use cases, and now I have an idea.

      I can see that underground and mainstream music are going to be more ANALOG, which you can see in YouTube videos, Reddit topics, new plugins, etc. I thought it would be wonderful to build a complete analog-focused creation (a few reverb algorithms, a few types of dual and mono delays, some frequency modulators, a few types of saturations, pitch drift and pitch stutters, phase and chorus combinations, and an analogizer pedal to put on any FX like reverb, delay, granular, etc.).

      I realized something: with the default libraries, I'm limited to default algorithms for reverbs, saturations, and so on (I don't think convolution reverb is a good fit for this). SO I SHOULD USE 3RD PARTY ALGORITHMS. I'm sorry about my weak technical knowledge, but I promise I'm not that bad :)

      I don't know if this is the right way to ask all these questions, but:

      1. Am I right that I should use third-party scripts/algorithms?
      2. I should use Faust or SNEX, right?
      3. I tried to compile HISE with Faust, but whenever I try to load even an empty file, it crashes. I followed everything in the official video and tried 2 different versions of HISE and Faust. Should I leave it and try SNEX or something else?
      4. Is there any collection or online directory for custom FX written in Faust, SNEX, etc.? (If I need to use them for a custom plate reverb without using a convolution reverb).
      5. Did I choose the easiest and most powerful tool for this project?

      Thank you all ;]]
