Vector fuzziness?
-
I just noticed this.
When the plugin is at 100% the icons (vectors), especially the icon frames are a bit fuzzy as opposed to the 125% where they are crisp.Anyone encounter this ?

Plugin comparison.
Here is our plugin , using fonts in HISE - (not png) as opposed to Synthmaster which has clear crispy fonts.
Why is this

@lalalandsynth Are you using OpenGL?
-
@DanH No , is that advisable ? Does not seem to have any effect on Hise itself in settings ?
How do I engage using OpenGL in a plugin and are there any compatibility issues?
And would OpenGL reduce cpu usage ?
-
@lalalandsynth If it's engaged it can reduce quality of graphics, particularly fonts. Your gui doesn't look very complex so I doubt it would benefit you in any great way. I don't think it affects cpu usage, just gpu usage.
-
@DanH Is it on by default or does it need code to engage, just out of curiosity.
-
@lalalandsynth it's not no. There's a box in Hise settings if you want to use it in Hise itself (good for checking the effect), and a flag for exporting.
The option is also available in the custom settings floating panel for users to toggle.

Are you using Windows with an odd OS scaling factor (eg. 125%)?
There might be occasions where the vectors are rendered on a image which might be created in the wrong size and rescaled under certain circumstances.
I don't think that OpenGL has something to do with it, but it definitely helps with laggy GUIs (however this UI doesn't look too complex so the software graphics renderer should be fine).

On Windows, if the monitor has a 4k (or more) resolution, and using a resolution factor higher than 100% for the Operating System , that happens. I think it is a Windows thing.
