Now I may not receive customer info.
Personally, this is the reason why I don't choose that kind of service.
Because you will need this information to retarget sales in new products or updates. This is one of the most essential things in sales.
Besides, it is almost necessary that the user needs to sign up to the software manufacturer's website to hold/see/manage the owned licenses and most the users will want that. And yes you can't make everyone happy :)
-
@orange Yes, that was the biggest hesitation. I havent spoken with anybody about the integration. For all I know, they may well still give the customer info. But in my experience with larger companies, they like to hoard this information, unless, a price is paid.
We shall see and I will inform what the verdict is.

Does anyone know of a good free program to make 3d box images for products (like 3d packaging)
-
@DanH I was using Box Shot for a while.
https://boxshot.com/3d-box/Now I do it all in Blender.

@Dan-Korneff Thanks, yeah I saw that, seems tricky to recall your settings if you want to make new ones...
Just seen the vid link, might give it a go !

Those box images are so tacky, unless your product is actually in a box. :p
-
@d-healey I agree. But it seems like the industry standard. And actually helps with design in that it keeps things uniform

More reason to avoid it, who wants to look like everyone else

@d-healey not you obviously

Hey gang. Just doing some redesign of a product page and rapidly realising it's much more preferable to have a completely separate page for mobile... I know you can change the layout for desktop / mobile / tablet, but I think I'd prefer to try something quite different, re-arrange the sections, different text etc.
So can anyone recommend a mobile detector / redirect plugin for Wordpress?
Or any other methods?
Thanks!

@DanH what webpage designer are you using? Any editor with "responsive website" features can already do this. I'm using Elementor and you can create an entirely different section or layout that is hidden/shown on different views.

@Dan-Korneff Thanks, I'm using Kadence. Seems rather limited when switching devices...
Ah I see I can hide stuff on different devices.... maybe that will work!
-
@DanH @Dan-Korneff Yes, Elementor is awesome for responsive webpage design.
-
@trillbilly It's a bit of a minefield though the mobile thing because as soon as you turn your device horizontal everything changes again
-
@DanH I believe you can make settings dependent on screen size, yes? I haven't used it in a bit since I've gotten a developer but what if you edit the Tablet mode, does it reflect on Mobile side-view at all?
-
@trillbilly @DanH You can can customise the screen sizes in the responsive mode Elementor
-
-
@DanH You want a layout that does this automatically. Don't mess with separate layouts for mobile. Everything is mobile. Get a layout that works, and test it to make sure it does.
-
@clevername27 The auto setting is fine, but people's attention span on mobile is going to be a lot shorter than desktop and there is far less space for images, so I'd like a different set of images and far less text for the mobile site.
