I've edited some samples that are used in an existing sample map and corresponding monolith (.ch1). In HISE the sampler reads the sample files from the monolith. I need it to go back to before I encoded the monolith - i.e it reads the samples from their original location on my HD. Is this possible or do I need to make a completely new sample map?

@danh Change the save mode in your sample map to 0 and it will use the wave files instead of the monolith

@d-healey perfect thanks, is there any option you know of to relocate those Wavs? Would be nice to group what I've used together, it's all quite messy atm!

@danh Edit the sample maps in a text editor, find/replace or multi-cursors should make short work of it.

@d-healey So you mean I manually bung all the wavs into a folder and then just repoint the xml files?

@danh The samples or the sample maps? Actually I think it can rename any file, click the file in the project browser and press F2. But it's a one at a time deal. There might be a batch renamer extension, you'll have check. There are other batch renaming tools for files though if there isn't an extension for this.

@lindon Thanks, quick question about something else - @d-healey - I'm topping and tailing some wavs expecting to save disk space by deleting silence / digital silence.... the results are dissapointing and wondering if digital silence doesn't actually take up much space, even if its part of a large audio file.... ?

depends when you are measuring the savings -- pre or post compression.

@lindon pre, I know digital silence becomes next to nothing in compression...

@danh How much silence are we talking about? If it's just a few seconds overall then it won't make a huge difference.

@d-healey tiny, sometimes 10% of the sample but I don't get a 10% reduction in file size...

@danh Stereo or mono? Although that probably won't make a difference because both channels will be reduced by 10%. Very strange.
