I'm pretty lost with the new_layout layout...

@d-healey Adding this functionality to the main window would solve everything :)

It's already there. Use the custom workspace.

Someone made a video about this ages ago :)

@d-healey That is the whole purpose of the debate, the custom workspace disappeared from the new layout

Now it is:
https://github.com/christophhart/HISE/commit/0501376caff3e8d11f86dbdca6dc65c8dde75a9c
Just deactivate the new setting (Development -> AutoShowWorkspace), then the interface designer will stay hidden.

@Christoph-Hart Just saw that commit! Building...

@Christoph-Hart Now, how can I get a graph full screen as before, without adding a third floating tile?
The popup system seems a good candidate. But it would be so cool to have shortcuts of preferred custom popups in the middle, close to the other 3 icons, rather than the sub-menu folder on the extreme left side. At least 1 pinned custom popup
-
Yes, making the three icons in the middle interchangeable might be a good idea.
Can you elaborate what you mean with "graph full screen"? I think the solution with the tab container that Dave suggested seems to solve your issue?
-
@Christoph-Hart Do you mean adding a tab in my floating window? It works, it is just that it is on the wrong monitor then. But I guess should go along with this solution. But if I want to display both at the same time, I could add another floating tile on the "good" screen... Yeah, it's pretty hard for me to change my habits :)
I mean, there are plenty of solutions to my problem now. It is just that they take more time/clicks/windows than before. Not a big deal for sure, but the opposite of an improvement in my workflow case (just speaking for myself)

I'm using a custom workspace, is there a way I can get this to show instead of the scripting workspace (I don't mind editing the source for this if it's simpler overall)?
-
Alright, I've commited a few changes:
- fixed workspaces disappearing when using the AutoFollowWorkspace setting
- added "follow workspace" button to panels with module connection to make them follow the workspace selection
- added popup submenu to load custom popups (right click on an empty floating tile)
The second one can be used to mimic the cozy UX of the inbuilt workspaces: just enable that button in any panel with a module connection (also works with GlobalConnectorPanels), then the content will be updated when you press a workspace button (it still distinguishes between sampler and scripting modules, so clicking a sampler workspace will not change any scripting panels).
This should be the last missing piece in order to fully customize everything with the new layout, but let me know if there is something left.
-
@Christoph-Hart Thanks. I'll rebuild now and try it out.
-
Doesn't seem to work quite how I was expecting. When I click to edit a script it's still closing my custom workspace and opening the scripting workspace.

Have you disabled the AutoFollowWorkspace setting?
-
@Christoph-Hart Yes, and restarted HISE after.

This setting still doesn't seem solve the problem. I have the checkbox disabled but my custom workspace still disappears when switching MIDI processors.
-
Bump Bump the custom workspace auto follow thingy. Also I noticed that if I have add a floating window and move it to another (virtual) desktop then menus in the main HISE window won't work (might be OS dependent).
-
Does anyone know how to encrypt an expansion on the latest version?
The docs say to go to "Sampler Workspace" and select the expansion you want to encode.
The workspace is empty here.
-
@dustbro It's at the bottom of the project directory tab in the left hand side-bar.
