      Hey guys, does anyone have a good license example to look at for a GPL v3 project but that also covers the audio material (which would be under a different non-freeware agreement).

      Thanks in advance (hopefully!)

      Dan

        @DanH If your using GPL for the software you must also use it for the samples unless you have a HISE commercial license or you've made some arrangement with Christoph, I recommend you contact him to discuss this.

          @d-healey Thanks David - assuming everything falls under the GPL agreement, is that all I would need to put into the 'License' area in the installer? + Link to code / samples etc?

            @DanH Yes, keep in mind that if the samples are under the GNU GPL then any compositions the user writes must also be released under the same license.

            This same issue exists with GPL'd fonts so they added a specific exemption - https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPL_font_exception. No such exemption exists for samples though. I think a CC or CC+ license is the best way forward, but you'd need to discuss with Christoph.

              @d-healey said in Licence Example:

              Yeah, I just wrote Dan, don't bother about the samples not being GPL - I think we can just assume fair use and as soon as the samples are available somehow to people who want to build the software, it's fine for me.
