Apple developer Program - Enrolling.

@Natanr Not entirely sure but I was told by a developer that he uses this fastlane software. He makes apple apps for a living.
"For example, our company distributes app+driver in PKG installer, thus we sign the app with Dev ID App, then notarize it, then create PKG installer with notarized app and driver, sign it with Dev ID Installer, and then notarize the installer ,Sounds tedious, but fortunately all of this can be automated with fastlane,I use this fastlane script on a daily basis and so happy about it"

@lalalandsynth Great :)
Any Tutorials Are Appreciated -
@lalalandsynth But seems to be for iOS only
-
@ustk Oh , really , sorry for that then , I guess I misunderstood the guy , I told him I was not making iOS apps. :)
-
Any advice for the Avid Developer program , seems like you have to send them a DNA sample as well , lol.
- in terms of the application , do I need to apply for the Alliance Partners program ?
https://www.avid.com/alliance-partner-program/how-to-apply
Or the Developer Certification ?
https://www.avid.com/alliance-partner-program/developer-certificationAnyone done this that can outline the process?
-
I do have access to a developer account so I can download a Dev version of protools just unsure what version and if I need an Ilok ?
-
Would be interesting if someone could roughly lay out the pipeline to get a working AAX plugin and what is involved.
This whole process seems more complicated then learning HISE ! :P

Ok you need to sign up to the alliance partner program.
- you get the dev version of protools
- you get the opportunity to talk to PACE - who will give you the noterizing and codesigning tools you need.
- you build your AAX plugin in HISE (as you say the easy bit)
- you use the Avid/PACE tools to noterize your plug-in
at this point it shoud work for the 5 people who will buy your "hey I'm not a a major manufacturer" plug-in...

Lol, I see what you are saying ;)
Lots of effort for potentially little return .
Anyone here have any experiences on ratio between sold VST/Au and AAX ? -
@lalalandsynth it will really really depend upon what your plug-in does.
ProTools is the domain of the big studio/Orchestral Composer (though of course not exclusively), whilst (say) FL Studio is unlikely to be the first choice of most people writing for Film, it may be the first choice of many many EDM.House/latest dance craze/ producers....
So if you have a really really cool multi-gig Orchestral tool - chances are you will want to include AAX in your supported platforms, whilst on the other hand if its a cool loop manipulation system shipping with a set of very current sounding lops - AAX may not be on your list of platforms to support right out the box...

Indeed , I guess I would like to be able to export as AAX as well, just in case.
obviously , its an effort . -
I signed up as my company, but I’m pretty sure that either sole proprietor or company enrolment is fine for notarising. You will need your D.U.N.S number though.
I only had my Apple ID verified and completed end of last week so I haven’t tried notarising anything yet (still working out how to even do it
)
If you are unsure about anything though, Apple support were really quick getting back to me when I had questions and they helped me get everything sorted with my enrolment. I just used the contact form on the website. They assigned me an assistant that emailed me everyday and even rang me at one point until I had my account setup. I was pleasantly surprised with the quick support, considering a lot of other companies during the pandemic have only had limited staff on customer service jobs.
