HISE as FX Plugin
-
Is there a way to build HISE as a FX (not Intrument) plugin, so we can design fx plugins while using it within tools like Plugin Doctor?
It would save a lot of time in development instead of the usual export, trial and error workflow. That way we could analyse the signal and make changes on the fly.
-
@clumsybear Yes, just select Export as FX Plugin from the Export menu.
Edit: I misunderstood. No I don't think HISE can be built as an FX plugin (I could be wrong though) but you can make your own FX plugins with HISE.

I think the issue here is that @Christoph-Hart would have to work out a way to route audio from outside the Hise environment (DAW or plugin doctor) into Hise and then route the signal to the L/R out.
ATM we can build HISE only as Instrument Plugin, which doesn’t support external audio routing.

I think the increased maintenance effort because of another configuration does not justify this.
You can create literally any signal inside HISE (just render and load an audio file into the looper). If you want to run it through a series of analysers, use the plugin version of HISE and slap some FX after it.

Yes, that’s true. Makes sense, but I have to find an analyser with the same capabilities as plugin doctor :)

Can't plugin doctor load instrument plugins?
-
No, that’s why I was asking

@Christoph-Hart I Tried To Load Up My FX Plugin Into Ddmf Plugin Doctor And It Says Please Select A Supported Format And Fails!
Just Demo'ed With One Of @orange Plugins, And That Loads Just Fine!
Is There Any Setting That I Need To Change? -
@Natanr If you use the latest update of Plugin Doctor, try to open VST3 or AU (if you are in mac) 64 bit FX plugins. Also if the plugin has mid/side functionality, you can't monitor sides.

@orange
I Used The Standalone Version Of Ddmf PD , And Tried To Load AU
Yours Opens , Mines Fails.
