How to Codesign for FREE for Free AU plugins with out paying any money to Apple ?
If I develop AU plugins and want to share with my Beta Tester it says "Developer can not be verified". So I need Apple codesign certificates, right?. Is it possible to codesign it for Free ? because if I develop FREE Plugins then what's the point to pay money to Apple?
How can I codesign for Free ? Please let me know the process to Free codesign and other process so that I can get rid off the "Developer not verified error" at my beta users system.

I don't think it's possible. I've seen mention of people using a self-signed certificate but I don't think that will work. You need to notarize as well as codesign and that can only be done through Apple's developer system.

@d-healey If I distribute AU only do I need to notarize ? or only codesign will work ?

@DabDab To make it work on macOS Catalina or later, you need to codesign and notarize it, regardless of whether it's an AU or VST3 :)

@bendurso It means developer will have to pay Apple in anyway whether developing for Free Plugins or Commercial one.
