Unsolved Table Linking between 4 LFOs
-
Something funky going on here.... I'm trying to link a Table on my UI to 2 Global Modulators and 2 Frequency Modulators, one inside two of the LFOs. I've used similar code to something @d-healey shared a while back.
The tables update in each LFO ok but other things begin breaking, like the speed of the lfo and the waveform floating tile display.
Is there a different way I can achieve this? Maybe multiple tables hidden on my UI which can update the LFO's?

@DanH said in Table Linking between 4 LFOs:
Frequency Modulators, one inside each LFO
I'm not seeing a frequency mod for each LFO, only for two of them. Is that correct?
-
@d-healey sorry, yes my original post wasn't accurate, just 2 freq mods in only 2 of the LFOs, will amend
6 modulators in total. Do you get the bugs as well?
-
@DanH said in Table Linking between 4 LFOs:
Do you get the bugs as well?
I'm not seeing anything unexpected.
@DanH said in Table Linking between 4 LFOs:
like the speed of the lfo and the waveform floating tile display.
But this is very vague, so maybe I need more info.
-
@d-healey here's what my waveform display looks like
And the table ruler is whizzing across the tables as though its on a really high speed.
There's no activity in the intensity bars or the leds...
-
This is what I see
-
@d-healey Thanks! Well it's an improvement on mine! However the waveform shape is still incorrect right? And your table rulers are moving much faster than 0.5hz are they not?
-
@DanH said in Table Linking between 4 LFOs:
However the waveform shape is still incorrect right?
Looks right to me, it's linked to the top lfo in the image I think. The lower LFO is at 3hz so I guess the table shows the fastest LFO it's connected to.
-
This isn't right...
-
@d-healey it would look like this if it as working properly, no?
-
@d-healey doesn't seem to work with only one LFO Modulator... Am I doing something wrong?!
A global mod issue?

@DanH I've somehow managed to hack this together by chaining the linking and not using Engine.createAndRegisterTableData().

@d-healey Maybe, needs some proper testing first! But on first look it's ok. Seems like there might be some bugs in the previous method though. Thanks for looking at it.

@Christoph-Hart do you think there is a bug in the snippet below?

-
@DanH It still looks correct to me.
The FloatingTile is connected to LFO 1. They match
The table display is erratic because the table itself is controlling the frequency - if you bypass those two frequency mods you'll see the table follows the fastest frequency set in one of the 4 modulators.
-
@d-healey I understand the table ruler being too fast, in my project all the LFO speeds are set the same so it shouldn't be an issue actually.
You say the waveform matches the LFO waveform, but does that match the actual shape of the LFO? Show me a screenshot of the whole LFO. If it does then the LFO shape is an upwards Saw. Try drawing a few nodes and see if it changes the waveform display.
-
@DanH Ah ok I see the issue. The custom shape no longer follows the table shape once the table is referring to the table data object. Yeah I think it's a bug.
-
@d-healey It's more than that really. Things start breaking. Try adding a filter into the FX lane and see if anything appears in the Filter display. Nothing does here until I export and re-import the snippet.
I also don't get any activity (or the wrong activity) from the LFOs themselves.
Perhaps the bug just cascades into a load of other bugs....
-
@DanH I am not guessing you have solved this? Experiencing the same issues with linking tables, where once they are linked HISE will just crash.
