I have a knob that controls a parametric EQ point's frequency. I'd like to be able to move the knob in real-time while playing but it sounds aweful, I think I need to add some kind of smoothing or lag time. Any idea how I can do this?

Yeah, the parametric EQ is a static EQ that's not supposed to be modulated. Check adding a polyphonic filter set to Peak mode, which should be much more smoother when modulated.

@Christoph-Hart This is for an FX plugin, I don't see polyphonic filter in the container FX drop down

Actually it seems to be not so bad in practice. I was testing with a sine wave generator and there was some pretty bad noise but when I run trumpet samples through it it's not such a problem.

Yes, but the problem that you can't apply filters on a Container remains since I've removed the monophonic filter.

@Christoph-Hart Yeah Filter Peak mode is very good. But it could be much more convenient if the limitation of the filter location was removed. Because filter allwas stays at top. We should use it everywhere (for fx plugins).

Yes a filter would be much better, I was just trying to find a workaround :)
