Change 'stepSize' of a knob using a combination of mouse + keyboard key
-
@gorangrooves
If you change the step size what will the value be when you release the knob? Will it snap to the nearest value with a step size of 1.0? Fine adjustment is already mapped to CTRL/CMD. -
@d-healey I would expect the value to remain where it was set when using find adjustments, once the mouse click is released. I tried using ctrl+click and drag, but fine adjustments were not happening.
Are you saying that this is the default behavior? -
I would expect the value to remain where it was set when using find adjustments, once the mouse click is released.
If you change the step size to 0.01 then it might stop on 1.56 but when you release the step size will be one so the value will probably snap to 2.
Are you saying that this is the default behavior?
Yes

@d-healey I double-checked now with a blank project, and CTRL+ mouse click results in Learn MIDI popup, as if you right-clicked with the mouse. So, it is not mapped to fine increments by default.
Since CTRL + mouse click is mapped to the Learn MIDI popup by default, is it possible to change this through scripting?

Are you on a Mac laptop?

@d-healey no. I am on Windows.

@Dan-Korneff thank you!
I take it that only the latest HISE built has the behavior I need set by default (and allowing to modify it) ? -

No it's mapped to right click by default (with the only exception that macOS interprets cmd + click (or something like that) as a right click because Steve Mc Minimalism decided it's a good idea to make a mouse with a single button lol.
I'm pretty sure on Windows the Ctrl+Click will enter the fine tune by default.
-
@Christoph-Hart but it doesn't.
On Windows:
ctrl + click = right clickThat's currently the default in HISE from Sep 27, 2023 version
