Dolby Atmos/ Spatial Audio??
-
Anyone any experience working with Spatial? Specifically Logic Pro X allows for Atmos mixing within the DAW native.
7.1.2 is 10 channels that can be achieved in HISE no?
-
I've been pretty busy mixing in Atmos. What would you like to know?
-
@Dan-Korneff When creating plugins for Atmos, is it possible in HISE using the routing FX? we would need 10 total channels correct? to match 7.1.2
-
@FatMitchell I asked this not too long ago. Haven't heard from the master @Christoph-Hart yet.
-
@FatMitchell I guess no.
-
@DabDab Bumpity ;) studio one 6.5 just announced native Atmos support and surround IRs and IR maker. Is HISE able to incorporate Binarual at this point? Imagine a leslie speaker rotating in Binarual.
Thoughts???

@virtuscapeaudio You can write it in C++ or perhaps even in Faust/Scriptnode.
The EQ in HISE is near limitless. What you need (essentially) is a filter and a delay for each channel, and a bunch of algorithms that dictate how each of these filters behave.
Keep in mind that you can only ever "ballpark" it, as everyone's head is different. I haven't done any algorithmic binaural panning so I can't tell you for sure about all that goes into one such algorithm, but plenty of papers have been written on HRTF and how it all works.
I'm sure you can find something on github as well.

@aaronventure so yeeeeeaa this is way above my paygrade haha.
-
@virtuscapeaudio Why would you need this in HISE? Are you making a standalone app?
For any plugin, you can simply use the built-in tools in Studio One/Nuendo.

@aaronventure Right , I could just do what i need in S1 and export stems as Binarual Stereo and conduct biz as usual in the HISE sampler. Seems simple enough!
