So my installer is now failing because it cant write to
C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\\product.vst3
Did we have a work around for this or does the user have to run the installer as admin?
-
Pretty sure you need admin access to write to that folder.
-
@Christoph-Hart -- yeah I was hoping we'd have a way round it -- and when I say "we" I mean David.... @d-healey
-
@Lindon Did you check the admin permissions box I added in project preferences?
-
@d-healey grief - oh no I didnt - I dont even remember you adding it.....well done - let me give that a go now....
-
Some guy called @Lindon helped https://forum.hise.audio/topic/6049/extractzipfile-problem?_=1666970695179
-
@d-healey -- that guy? He's a flake -- I think he's just a t-shirt salesman really....
My excuse is that I was in 38 degree San Antonio at the time and my brain got fried....
Still works nicely, I assume this does nothing for us on MacOS - where we are back to putting stuff in the user folder?
-- also, in passing, todays "learning" is that you cant use the old "/" works on all OSes.. as now if its in a path on Windows 11 it crashes the app...

@Lindon what do you use to create your Windows installation? with inno setup there is no such problem
